When my friends offered to take me to their country club in Hudson I said “Really a country club, here in Hudson?” Who knew there was a beautiful Georgian Country Club only 5 minutes drive from WestRidge. Image my surprise to learn not only does the Charter Oak Country Club offer an 18 hole course, 3 tennis courts, Olympic-size swimming pool, adult Jacuzzi and baby pool, workout fitness facilities, but a grand ball room with casual and well as fine dining. What more could I ask for!

I heard there was a well known local Pub only a 2 minute drives from WestRidge. Walking into the Horseshoe Pub I expected to find a typical New England pub but found so much more.  Wow, what to choose. With over 80 beers on tap, one more unusual than the next, this was not an easy decision.  So I decided to move on to their extensive wine list.   By the end of the night I had sampled several of the appetizers’; my favorite was the Calamari. Today I think I will take one of the many hiking trails leaving WestRidge and follow the trail right to the Gym!  Check it out, a full service Gym in the heart of Hudson!   I can take classes, workout my cardio or just lift free weights.  And when the days are short and the weather is nippy I can get that mid winter tan.  Oh yes, New Year’s resolution here I come!  Boost Gym: http://www.myboostfitness.com/

Only minutes for WestRidge, just off the roundabout in downtown Hudson I found a unique little bistro.  Before entering I could hear soft music.  Stepping inside I was surrounded by an array of delectable aromas.  My server was not only pleasant but knowledgeable.  My first choice was a Beet Salad with Arugula, Walnuts, Goat Cheese topped with a Citrus Vinaigrette.  I enjoyed several more courses before realizing the better part of the night had past. This was truly fine dining.  I would highly recommend Chloe at 23 Main Street in downtown Hudson!

Frequently I stop by Ariba’s to pick up my fresh ground large cup of coffee.  The location is perfect because I can be at WestRidge in minutes and still have piping hot coffee. There is never a problem finding a parking space right on Main Street.  The only real decision I have is whether I am in the mood for one of their fresh baked pastries or egg, cheese and sausage served on a warm croissant.  Starbucks has nothing on Ariba!
