Sales at Red Mill Village are up

Facts are In:  January and February were Hot!

Last modified: March 14, 2007 12:56 pm EST

Norton and Plymouth, MA. Despite the bitter cold and the doom and gloom of the newspapers, Thorndike’s Red Mill Village and Pinehills sales operations are “hot”, according to Bill Mullin, Chief Operating Officer. “Of course we track our sales at Red Mill Village, and we have had 9 sales in 9 weeks. For us, one new sale per week is officially a “hot market.”

And not to be outdone, the Thorndike at the Pinehills sales operation has signed 6 new purchase agreements in the last 2 months.  While this does not meet the “hot” standard, it is certainly warm.

Thorndike surveyed several local brokers who also confirmed that the market had picked up in the early part of this year.  The general consensus was that people have properly adjusted prices to reflect the current market demand, so they are able to sell their homes and move into Red Mill Village or Thorndike at the Pinehills.

Gretchen Buitta, Sales Manager for Red Mill Village, confirmed the trend.  “Not only have we seen more contracts being executed, we are also seeing an overall year-to-year increase in traffic through the Sales Center. I am very excited because our buyers are excited.  The challenge we have now is that we are almost out of our inventory of built-homes so people who want to move in very, very soon may have to wait a bit.”

So, the message is that as we come out of a real estate down-cycle, this is a very good time to buy.  And, then you can move in when weather is hot as well.
